Control & Instrumentation Measurement, Volksrust, Mpumalanga, R30k pm neg. Control & Instrumentation Measurement, Volksrust, Mpumalanga, R30k pm neg. This is a 1 year contract with the option of extending • Assist Instrument Mechanicians on the performance of: • Maintenance on process instrumentation according to procedures, drawings and specifications. • Identification and inspection of work area. • Preparation of work area. • Appropriate methods, techniques and equipment to use. • Solve spares problems • Investigate recurring defects and recommend corrective action and modifications to Supervisor and Technicians. • Attend to Equipment Care and Personal Safety: • Inspect equipment and report defects and problems to the Supervisor. • Adhere to safety requirements. • Use the correct personal protective equipment, to perform the tasks. • Report unsafe conditions on equipment and in the work area to the Supervisor. • Clean all equipment and work area daily after usage. • Conduct quality control inspections on work to identify and correct errors. • Perform Fault finding, repairs and calibration: • Utilising circuit diagram and test procedures with test ring and test equipment such as oscilloscope, signal generators, current source, frequency counter, and digital multimeter. • Taking corrective action by replacing components and determining causes of fault. • Evaluate electronic equipment by: • Studying drawings and manual. • Do reverse engineering where documentation and information in not obtainable from other sources. • Advises on/ and carrying out modification to improve reliability of electronic equipment and plant by: • Analysing fault and determining whether modification or replacement components are required. • Drafting modifications on to drawings where required. • Perform test and evaluates modifications as per specifications. • Assist staff of all maintenance department when requested by: • Performing fault finding on electronic equipment. • Setting up and adjusting electronic equipment installed on the plant. • Supplying information to the suppliers and department on electronic equipment used. • Support SAP planning function: • File SAP documentation. • Create notifications. • Report on work done, time spent, spares used and delay. • Assist in the design and modification of the plant to improve reliability: • Analyse faults. • Recommend and design modifications. • Perform tests to evaluate modifications. General Candidate should be experienced in PLC and DCS systems operation and fault finding. Knowledge of Profibus networks will be an advantage.
