Fairfood International is a global movement of people passionate about facilitating change towards a sustainable food and beverage industry. Established in 2002 by volunteers, Fairfood has evolved into a professional non-profit organisation supported by a dedicated staff and many eager volunteers. With our standardised approach, we encourage more than 1700 food companies in over 76 countries worldwide to adopt sustainable practices. As a non-profit organisation we do all this on a shoestring budget. We believe that by engaging in positive dialogue with food and beverage brand owners worldwide we can achieve holistic change. Our headquarters are located in the heart of Amsterdam, and our representatives are situated in Amsterdam, Berlin, New Delhi, Johannesburg, London, San Francisco, and Sao Paolo. From these offices, our advocacy managers proactively seek, establish and maintain contact with food brand owners in their regions. As an international organisation we involve our audience of likeminded people to support our cause through an extensive use of social media such as Twitter and Facebook. At the moment we have the support of over 100,000 people worldwide. We have established partnerships with other NGO’s, governmental institutions and companies around the world, and are working towards developing new ones. With our advocacy and worldwide support, companies will surely move towards adopting fair means of production and trade.
