Description:
Glanmire Medical Centre is a family practice which has come a long way since it was established by Dr Grufferty in Sallybrook, Glanmire back in 1984. The Practice then moved to Hazelwood in 1992 where it continued to grow with the rapidly expanding population of Glanmire. In 2002 the need to take on more doctors and staff precipitated the move to these modern premises which covers 7,000 square feet of floor space in the Crestfield Shopping Centre. These premises are specifically adapted to a standard that benefits both the staff working here and also the visiting patients. Phase one of this development was completed in July 2002 and consists of nine consulting rooms on the ground floor. There are currently ten family doctors practicing at this centre . Dr Grufferty is a Trainer with the Cork GP Vocational Training Programme. This is a vital function to educate the trainee GPs. The practice also has a practice nurse, two dentists, chiropodist, physiotherapist, speech & language therapist and dietician practising at the centre.
