Junior Web Master and Web Developer Job Title: Junior Web Master and Web Developer Position reports to: Senior Web Designer, and Marketing Manager Job Purpose Summary: Assist the web and marketing team with the development and maintenance of web sites and provide specialised group/individual web developments on the corporate intranet. Primary Responsibilities and required skills: 1. Web Master • Adhoc HTML updates, Daily updates of information to the websites, content management and management of databases. • Mailers sending and management of mailer systems • Management of hosting services, server’s maintenance. • Repairing of broken links and replacing missing images. • Investigating errors on form. • Domain maintenance for the group. Following up on domain name expiry and ensuring that all contracts are renewed in a timely manner. 2. Web developer minimum skills • Coding: PHP, HTML, XML, Flash optional… • Experience in Search Engine Optimisation • Create and maintain databases ( MySQL, SQL..) • Scripting, e.g. Java Script • Establish dynamic links with Intranet, Webservices • Static to live site transformation – preferably making use of Dreamweaver. • Elaboration and maintenance of a new online tracking system for all our websites marketing/adverts and reports on online traffics and knowledge database on traffic retention and campaign analysis. 3. Web developments for specialised groups/individuals • Evaluation of user requirements. • Meeting with Management or peers to discuss requirements. • Research into the best solution. Preparation of specification/scope of project and seek sign off from requester. • Presentation, if required, of specification to the relevant stakeholders. • Estimation of time required to complete the work. • Development of database and web interfaces. • Liaison with colleagues for other specific coding. • Testing of development. • Writing of training manuals if required. Provision of regular progress updates to relevant stakeholders. Secondary Responsibilities: 1. Testing of main stream Intranet developments • Assist with testing of Intranet development projects. Testing to be carried out from a ‘users’ perspective. • Provide feedback of bugs/cosmetic issues to web developers. 2. Training users on Intranet • Having familiarised yourself with the workings of the corporate intranet, provide training to users both internal and external to Tray International. • Produce documentation explaining how to use the various area’s on the intranet. From time to time you may be called upon to complete tasks not specifically detailed above.
