Wine Farm Managers X 25, West & Northern Cape, R45000 > R90000 pm neg. Wine Farm Managers X 25, West & Northern Cape, R45000 > R90000 pm neg. 25 Wife Farm Managers needed across the Cape!!!!!! Wine industry experience non-negotiable. Preferably B.Agric Cellar Management or equivalent This executive opportunity is available at 25 wine farms across the Cape. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and sales strategy. Included in the duties is the development and management of the marketing budget, sales targets, marketing plans and brand activation. The successful candidate will be a team player and together with the team achieve immediate success. Interaction with the winemaker and a thorough understanding of local and international trends is the key to success. • 10-20 years relevant experience. • Liaise with viticulturists who manage planting programs and the cultivation and production of grapes. • Conduct various laboratory tests to monitor the progress of grapes to ensure their quality and to determine the correct time for harvest. • Organise the crushing and pressing of grapes, the settling of juice and the fermentation of grape material. • Direct the filtering of wine to remove remaining solids. • Conduct laboratory tests and monitor quality of wine. • Place filtered wine in casks or tanks for storage and maturation. • Prepare plans for bottling wine once it has matured and make sure that quality is maintained when the wine is bottled. • Supervise cellar personnel involved in the production of wine. • Supervise the maintenance of the vineyard and winery during the off-season. • Liaise with sales and marketing staff to make sure of the production of appropriate wine types, styles and qualities. • Conduct technical in-service training for cellar staff. • Give guided tours, conduct tastings and advise visitors about various aspects of wine. Salaries will be calculated according to qualifications and applicable experience. Credit, criminal, qualification and employment history checks are a pre-requisite for this position.
