Licensed Teachers Wanted Hsin-Chu City's Government Education Program Certified Teachers We are looking for certified school teachers for the Hsin-Chu Government’s Elementary and Junior High School English Program in Hsin-Chu City, Taiwan. Teachers are required to be a native English speaker, have a 4 year degree, and a teaching licensure (teacher’s certificate/license/a registered education diploma). Taiwan’s government is currently accepting applicants from the following countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of South Africa, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. 1) Term of Employment: August 1, 2010 to July 31, 2011 Employment Training: 30 hours in August of 2010 2) Salary: $60,890.00 NT monthly paid from the commencement date to June 30, 2011 for new teachers to the program. 3) Rent allowance: $5,000.00 NT monthly 4) Working hours: Monday through Friday / 8 to 4:00 p.m. 5) If you work for Elementary school, you will have a maximum of 24 classes per week. The class duration is 40 minutes. 6) If you work in a junior high school, you will have a maximum of 22 classes per week. The class duration is 50 minutes. 7) There will be up to 10 hours per month for participation in schools’ activities. 8) Health Insurance is provided In accordance with Taiwan’s national labor laws. Teachers are required to pay thirty-percent of the total premium charged under the Taiwan’s National Health Insurance Policy and twenty-percent of the total premium charged under the Taiwan’s National Labor Insurance Program. 9) Evaluation and Performance Incentives will be given in July of 2011. a) A one month salary performance incentive will be paid to teachers with a performance rating equal to or above 85 points. b) A half month salary performance incentive will be paid to teachers with a performance rating between 75 and 84 points. c) If personal leave and sick leave combined are more than 14 days for the entire school year, then one’s performance incentive, regardless of score, will be not be allotted. 10) Economy class airfare reimbursement will be given to teachers who meet the following criteria. a) Teachers who are seeking airfare reimbursement will be required to present a receipt upon arrival in Taiwan and their boarding passes. b) A teacher’s reimbursement will be paid in full after 3 months of one’s contract is completed. c) Reimbursement costs will be paid out to a maximum amount of $30,000 NT one way. d) After the completion of one’s contract, a teacher should provide all the aforementioned documentation within 2 months of one’s arrival in their home country to receive reimbursement. The criteria for an individual to receive reimbursement for a departure ticket follows the same guidelines as the regulations set forth for repayment of their arrival tickets for individuals receipts, boarding passes, and purchase prices. An individual applicant’s required documentation prior to departing to Taiwan is as follows. 1) A valid passport 2) An original degree and teaching certificate validated by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in one’s native country. 3) A valid criminal record check that has been issued by one’s national government and validated by the TECO office in one’s native country. 4) 12 recent passport photos 5) A recent medical examination from a public or private government certified medical facility by a qualified physician. Medical examinations that are older than 90 days will not considered valid. 6) Individuals from South Africa are required to have a valid South African Council of Education certificate which has been notarized by a South African TECO. globalculturetaiwan.com |
