Regional Manager / Co-ordinator (focus on marketing and sales) We are looking for someone to help start up and launch a new, innovative publishing product in Johannesburg. We need a key member of staff to help us launch the business into Joburg and potentially into the rest of South Africa. We are based in the UK and need someone to drive this business locally. Ideally, you would have experience in marketing or sales, an interest in working in a start up environment and the ability to think for yourself. Trustworthy, organised with excellent communication skills you will be providing the drive and local coordination which will be crucial to the success of the business. This is a role which would be ideal for someone with strong ambition, is hands on, willing to lead a team but lacking the business experience needed in today’s difficult recruitment environment. Fundamental to this product’s marketing is a fundraising element and we have an aim to raise R1m in the first 2 years of trading for good causes. This is, as mentioned, a start up and carries the associated risks with it. Success will be dependent on a number of things but mostly on you! Key roles and responsibilities include: Liaising with the UK office on a day to day basis Coordinating the regional office (4 staff initially) Assist in the recruitment and management of temporary or contract sales staff and managing their day to day activities and performance Actively being involved in marketing and direct selling. Actively generating channels to market through direct contact, email and telephone (the marketing model requires hundreds of these channels.) Managing fulfilment and delivery of the product (although print and design would be outsourced and run from the UK) Being our “person on the ground” in SA .....
