Trainee ROV Pilot Technician We currently have excellent opportunities for experienced technicians to become ROV Pilot Technicians. We require ROV personnel to have a good background in electronics or hydraulics. Experience with pneumatics, plant maintenance or electrical or mechanical engineering may also be of interest. Candidates who do not have formal qualifications (academic, trade or in the armed forces) in one of these areas are unlikely to be considered. The Associate ROV Pilot Technician is an entry level position. The position has the primary responsibility for assisting the ROV operation, completion of dive and video logs and general maintenance tasks (under supervision). These key responsibilities are structured as follows: Must understand principles of the ROV control, navigational and propulsion systems. Must understand fundamental hydraulic, electric and electronic principals. Assist in the Launch and Recovery of the ROV System (supervised) Undertaking training in the ROV operations and maintenance according to the Subsea 7 training and competency scheme. Undertake maintenance and repair of the ROV System under the supervision of the Submersible Technician / ROV Supervisor Build a portfolio of evidence for the companies ROV Competence Assurance Scheme and present the completed portfolio to the Subsea 7 competence focal point for assessment, verification and audit by client companies.
