Signal Analyst Engineer, Pretoria East, R neg. Signal Analyst Engineer, Pretoria East, R neg. My client based in the East of Pretoria with local and international ties in the defence environment and has various positions available. They are looking for graduates as well as skilled and senior engineers to employ in the field of RF and EW as Signal Analyst / Modelling & Simulation Engineers. You will get opportunities to work on projects within the local and international defence environment. Positions are available from Graduate entry level to Masters, PhD, and Skilled and Senior level. Requirements: • You should have B. Eng Electronic, M or PhD. • Majoring in Signal Processing subjects will be a definite advantage. • Formal or informal training on Matlab will be an advantage. • Knowledge of RF propagation and RF sub-systems will be an advantage. • Experience in signal analysis and/or system analysis and systems engineering will be of advantage. • Strong analytical skills including a good mathematical and statistical ability. • SA Citizenship is a pre-requisite as a Security Clearance is required for this position. Responsibilities: • Development of advanced signal processing algorithms. • Mathematical analysis of systems and system effects. • Operation-based simulation and analysis. • Simulation and functional analysis of systems and subsystems. • Implementation of algorithms on systems. • Design and execution of field experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and client feedback. • Design and specification of systems. • Understanding of RF propagation. • Working understanding of RF sub-systems. • Understanding implementation considerations for hardware and software. Personal Attributes: • You will be responsible for doing research and development and apply knowledge in detecting, tracking, measuring, identification and countermeasures for sensors in the microwave, radar, and signal environment. • You are highly competent in DSP, Maths, Stats and RF. • If you like to build algorithms for fun, you will enjoy this environment. • Have a passion for hardware, firmware and software development. • Enjoy system analysis and system engineering in an electronic engineering environment. • You will be constantly challenged. • Work in an environment where you will work on the cutting edge of technology. • No repetitive work, each project is new. • It is essential that you are able to work under pressure on your own and within a team environment. • You have the initiative to take ownership and be responsible for your own projects. • You are able to work without supervision and are self-motivated. • You have the ability to make decisions and meet deadlines • You will have the opportunity to work with other world wide recognised engineers who are willing to impart (and mentor and coach) their knowledge in their area of specialisation. • You would like to become a world wide recognised specialist in your own area of specialisation. • A wish to further your studies will be an advantage. • You have excellent writing skills and like to publish and present at local and international conference is promoted in this environment. • If you like working towards high academic results, you will enjoy this environment. • It is very important to have excellent English Communication skills as you will be interacting daily with staff members and will be expected to grow effective relationships with specific clients.
