Design Engineer, Centurion, R400k pa neg. Design Engineer, Centurion, R400k pa neg. This leading free space optical equipment company is looking for a young Design Engineer to join their successful team. The company is “last mile” wireless solutions provider, they have installed its products in over 30 countries where it is the preferred supplier of Free Space Optic (FSO) links and associated services to Network Operators, Internet Service Providers and Data System Integrators. Applications of their products and services include: Enterprise Ethernet and voice connectivity, Telco voice and data connectivity, Rapid deployable networks, Redundant links, High security wireless networks, Video connectivity, CCTV networks and many more. Qualifications, skills and experience: • B.Eng Electronic Engineer. • Minimum of 5 years design experience in a telecommunication or signal processing environment. • FSO Design experience. • RF Certification (Microwave Radio Experience). • Networking Certification (CISCO; HP; 3COMM; Microtik ect.). • Programming Python; Linux; Visual C++; MySQL; Lighttpd Web Sever; Web.Py; MatLab. • Must have a valid driver’s license. • Embedded software design / Embedded Linux. • Hardware design schematic capture (Mentor S/W). • Electro-Optical design. • GUI Software development (Visual C++; Python; QT) • Must understand networking LAN / WAN environment • Electronic Systems Engineering Experience • Project Management Skills • Presentation skills (PowerPoint); Must be able to present and write reports / white papers. Personal attributes: • Must be a good communicator • Must be able to write reports • Must be able to work individually and within a group. Responsibilities: • Designing of FSO products. • Up keep of existing FSO products. • System testing and integration of new products. • Technical training. • Technical sales support. • Technical evaluation of new product sets. Starting salary R25,000.00 per month. Depending on the level of maturity. Upside R38,000 pm.
