Office Manager/Senior Travel Consultant

This innovative and exciting Tour Operator is looking for a combined Office Manager/Senior Consultant with good Travel background to lead our offices in Northcliff - Johannesburg. We need a strong person with excellent English skills.

Office Manager Duties:

- Managing HR functions of the following staff members:
1 X Specialist Wedding and Conference Travel Consultant
1 X Intermediate Consultant
3 X Junior consultants
1 X Sales Support
1 X Information officer
1 X Receptionist
1 X Cleaner
1 X Gardener
1 X Custodian
(HR Function includes leave applications, salaries, interviewing of new staff, contracts of employment, disciplinary procedures, grievance procedures, assisting with staff problems, etc)

- Co-ordination with the external Web-Design Consultant
- Dealing with problematic travel clients and operators on behalf of the Travel Consultants
- Security: Locking up and managing the office during the absence of the Directors
- Advising accountant on monthly salaries and working out the consultants commission claim forms
- Assisting Directors with the general development of the business
- Assisting and driving the process of implementing the new workflow system
- Reconciliation of accounts when necessary


Senior Consultant Duties:
- Acting as Team Leader for all the Travel Consultants
- Answering of e-mail and telephonic requests and enquiries from clients
- Distribution of incoming requests and enquiries when the Director is not doing so
- Selecting appropriate operators for client queries
- Liaising with the tour operators providing the products
- Report to Director regarding status of quotations
- Achieving monthly sales targets
- Assist Director with the negotiations of new contractual agreements with new and existing Tour Operators
- Follow up with quoted clients.
- All administration relating to the confirming bookings in conjunction with Sales Support
- Issuing of pre-paid vouchers and receipts in conjunction with Sales Support
- After initial 3 month period, assisting with on-going on the job training/mentoring to junior travel staff.
