Junior Legal Copyright Assistant Junior Legal Copyright Assistant Flexible position on an hourly rate Yuri Arcurs is the number one selling stock photographer in the world. In the relatively new market of microstock photography, combined with the widespread availability of the Internet, the unpaid use of copyrighted images is on the rise. We are looking for passionate young self-starters to combat infringement of our images. As a junior legal copyright assistant, you will be part of a brand new team within Yuri Arcurs Productions. This exciting venture will not only investigate and redress/rectify the misuse and nonpayment of Yuri Arcurs Productions images, but create the system by which this process will be carried out. This position will entail duties like: Determining and outlining the illegal use of images Creating and updating standard emails regarding the use and payment of Yuri Arcurs Productions images Finding and following up on suspected illegal use of Yuri Arcurs Productions images Ranking illegal use of images by severity and determining the necessary actions to be taken Research on newest infringement prevention strategies and adaption to Yuri Arcurs Productions We are looking for someone reliable, loyal and honest, with a go-getter attitude. You need to be very accurate with excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail. You are strong-willed but calm and have the ability to remain composed in all types of situations. You need to be able to deal with rough attitudes from infringers and not take rudeness personally. The ideal person would show initiative, while maintaining the precision and professionalism necessary to engineer a new system. Ideally we need someone with sound legal knowledge - either a law student or a paralegal, specialising in copyright law, who has an interest in the legal aspects of online sales. Skills needed: Some background in copyrighting law is preferred - specifically in images, music or online media Comfortable with navigating the Internet Microsoft Office, Skype and Gmail should be familiar to you Highly skilled in both written and spoken English Well versed in appropriate legal lingo Conflict management skills preferred Apple Mac skills desired but not essential We can offer: The opportunity to be invested in an entirely new project, setting up legal avenues from the base level upwards The potential to be part of the legal team representing the Yuri Arcurs Productions stock selling website in future A stable, thriving workplace An international and creative environment where you can learn and grow as an employee and gain experience in the field of microstock photography, and copyright law An hourly salary starting at R37,50, which will reflect your ability to evolve and improve going forward as an Yuri Arcurs Productions Employee 5 – 20 hours per week, with possibility for more hours Interested?
