Research and communications Officer (Economics) Research and Communications Officer (Economics) Economics Graduate AA post R highly negotiable Requirements: · An interest in and knowledge of trade, finance and economic policy · Ability to drive media issues in line with the organisation’s strategy and philosophy, including but not limited to, identifying opportunities, developing them and generating on message coverage as a result of them · Understanding various mechanisms · An understanding of the media– print, radio and television– and the ability to organise and successfully manage press conferences and other media opportunities · A detailed and expert understanding of current affairs · A detailed and expert understanding of communication, including the ability to write to an excellent standard and to produce and provide oversight over the production of press statements, speeches , articles, policy and other forms of communication · A detailed and expert understanding of policy in municipality, the City of Cape Town and the Western Cape Essential for this post: · Excellent writing and communication skills · Computer literacy essential · Proficiency in more than one language advantageous
