SXEW Processing Manager (Hydrometallurgical, Solvent Extraction & Electrowinning) Contract (renewable) FIFO position in the mining sector in a remote and safe area of the Democratic Rep of the Congo. Single status position (not favourable for wives and families to reside there) with a six day working week. Reports to the Plant Manager PLEASE NOTE: Regrettably, we are unable to consider candidates who do not have prior mining industry experience. (This is a crucial requirement and not negotiable). KEY TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED: • BS Metallurgical Engineering Degree required, MS preferable • +10 years experience in hydrometallurgy, solvent extraction, electrowinning • Strong technical skills – capable of reviewing/approving detailed engineering designs and PFDs • Develop and manage SXEW (Solvent Extraction and Electrowinning - copper mining) facility and all associated staff. • Ability to lead operations teams to achieving targeted production goals • Management experience and have been exposure in carrying to HR policy, disciplinary • Must be an aspiring manager capable of motivating and leading a national workforce to achieve clearly defined safety and production targets and have an in-depth understanding of copper hydrometallurgical processes to an extent that risk of failure is minimal. OTHER ESSENTIALS • Previous expatriate experience would be advantageous • Ability to communicate in French would be a plus (not essential); English is mandatory due to the frequent technical meetings with engineering and support companies and other vendors as well preparation of operations and technical reports KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED • Must be a self starter, team builder, people developer and exemplary leader • Capable of serving at elevated levels when the opportunity presents – career, growth minded REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS: • Annual salary up to US$180,000 per annum (tax free plus benefits), depending on skills and experience • Benefits: Bonus potential of 25%; Travel allowance; Accommodation and meals provided; 84 days annual leave (on a roster base); Medical; Group Benefits Scheme, etc. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. |
