Junior COBOL Developer IT Graduate Developer (Cobol) SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZENS ONLY International Software Development Company (based in Centurion) is recruiting a young and dynamic IT Graduate with a passion for development. This growing company services the United Kingdom, European and Middle-East markets projecting the company into a global software solution provider. The Graduate will start on a training program and be up-skilled in Cobol development. Area: Centurion Type position: Permanent Remuneration: CTC neg. depending on candidates experience, qualifications and skills. Skills and experience required: • Senior certificate. • National IT Diploma or University IT degree (B.Sc. / B.Com) Informatics/ Information Systems/Computer Science or Preference will be give to candidates with a degree. Tertiary qualification must be complete, will not consider candidates who have not completed their tertiary qualification. • Must have gained a minimum of 1 years “practical” development experience as part of tertiary qualification. • Some experience with Cobol development will be a great advantage. • Some experience with VB.NET and VB6 will an advantage. • Minimal systems analysis and business analysis skills advantage. • Must have good knowledge of SDLC life cycle. • Must be able to interpret functional specifications and develop quality software that functions exactly as specified. • Documenting new features and functionality to specification. • Must have excellent communication skills, time-management skills and work methods. • Ability to use initiative and be a self-starter, responsible, conscientious and diligent. • Ability to deliver projects on time is a critical element of the position.
