Project Management Internship Opportunity The Zakheni Drama Therapy Schools Project In 2011, the Zakheni Arts Therapy Foundation is embarking on their first Schools Project, bringing the arts and healing together in a 20-week programme in schools, in disadvantaged areas of the Western Cape. The Zakheni Board and Director, Lesley Bester intends the project to create a platform for Secondary School Students to explore, dramatically, school based violence. Not only will this programme offer the students the space to process deeply problematical issues that are prevalent in the majority of schools in the Cape Flats, it will also afford them the opportunity to learn, apply and demonstrate Drama methods, skills and competencies. Zakheni has been awarded the funds from The National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund for 5 schools to participate in this exciting project. The Zakheni Arts Therapy Foundation is calling for applications for the Project Manager Internship on the Zakheni Drama Therapy Schools Project. The successful applicant will be working directly with the Project Manager of the programme. Interested candidates need to be: * Self- driven * Open minded * Able to work in multi-cultural environment * Well organised * Able to work interdependently * Excellent written and oral English skills * Above average IT skills Preferable requirements: * A Masters degree (Business, Management, Organisational Development) * Keen interest in implementing skills * Seeking to gain practical experience Suitably qualified and experienced persons of colour are encouraged to apply. The post is based in Cape Town Role Description: The successful candidate will be assisting in the following areas: * Planning and implementation of the project. E.g. liaising with schools, processing tenders, collating ME reports * Coordination and administrative support of Field Facilitators * General Administrative tasks This internship is a 10 month contract and requires the successful applicant to work 10-hours per week for an amount of R1, 500.00 per month, commencing on Tuesday 1st February.
