Portfolio Manager – Creative Industries and Tourism and Special projects Wesgro is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer This is a one year contractual position subject to the successful candidate signing a performance agreement. A three month probation period is applicable. Purpose of the Job: The appointee will successfully attract foreign and domestic direct investment into the Western Cape across Creative Industries and Tourism as well as be responsible for Special projects. This includes positioning and marketing the province as a leading investment location to the international investor community. This includes delivering on designated areas of responsibility as stipulated in the Investment Promotion Business Plan. Requirements: An appropriate tertiary qualification and a minimum of three years’ work experience on the facilitation of investment deals/projects. Three years industry experience within Creative Industries and Tourism and/or across multiple sectors . Understanding of international business development processes and principles. Knowledge of the global economy, and the South African business environment. . Sound understanding of investment promotion best practises and related policies/incentives are advantageous. Two years at a middle management level. A valid Code B driver’s license and passport. Key Competencies: The appointee will have excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation and marketing skills, an understanding of project management and be willing to travel. Problem solving and research skills. Negotiation skills and financial management in the context of the PFMA will be advantageous. The ideal candidates should be delivery-driven, assume full responsibility for the management and performance of their portfolio, behave with integrity and produce work of exceptional quality. Duties: Duties will include inter alia: • developing, promoting and facilitating investment into the province • developing and managing a quality investment pipeline • targeting potential investors • planning and executing inward and outward investment missions. |
