IT Systems Analyst SYSTEMS ANALYST (West Rand) – Roodepoort (Perm) (Preference will be given to candidates from the designated groups as defined in the Equity Act) Our corporate client is urgently looking for an IT Systems Analyst. FUNDAMENTAL (Basic Minimum Requirements) (Academic Record, Computer literacy and related experience) 1. Must have a relevant qualification in an I.T. related field (Post Level 4 (NQF 2) result in Maths and English). 2. Must have excellent knowledge of Enterprise computing (including database development) using Microsoft development products 3. Must have a full knowledge, training and experience of Object-oriented Analysis and proven design skills in OO, including proven experience in high-level business & systems analysis, with the ability to interact with business people, at both executive and non-executive level, to achieve effective, successful business solutions 4. Must have the experience in how to architect for distributed, multi-tiered environments and the discipline to adhere to the client’s set of architectural standards in design. 5. Must have skills and experience in project managing the entire development life-cycle, including Effective Controls 6. Must have proven process engineering skills 7. Ability to deliver projects on time is a critical element of this position. 8. Code 08 driver’s license. 9. Must have solid experience using Structured Query Language (SQL). CORE (Description of Job) 1. Architect and design I.T. Business systems (technical and business position) 2. Develop test cases for own and other developers’ code and test accordingly 3. Create specifications to the company’s standard for the developers in the project 4. Project manage I.T. development projects from user-specification (business & customer) to implementation 5. Project manage customer projects, including meetings with customers on a senior level. 6. All other functions relating to the I.T. systems development life-cycle may be required to be performed as part of the job description 7. Extended hours where necessary will be a requirement due to the critical nature of the position 8. Must be able to interact with customers (internal and external) from the highest to the lowest level in the organization (Job Specific Requirements) (Skills & ability in order to do this specific job + other requirements) 1. The intellectual and professional capacity to perform the job at the required technical level must be proven through references and in execution of the daily tasks 2. Must have exceptional communication and presentation skills, be a self-starter and take responsibility for managing I.T. projects independently 3. Must have outstanding time-management skills and work methods and be able to lead and motivate effectively the resources involved in the project 4. Ability to use initiative and be a self-starter, responsible, conscientious and diligent 5. Must be well groomed, presentable and have good interpersonal skills. 6. Ability to work independently under constant pressure without supervision. 7. Ability to deliver successful projects on time is a critical element of the position and a key measurement factor. 8. Be prepared to undergo credit and criminal checks. 9. Be prepared to undergo a pre-employment polygraph or integrity test. (Added Advantages) 1.
