Senior IT Consultant Responsibilities • Build and maintain confidence of colleagues and customers • Independently conduct small to medium engagements with customers • Maintain current knowledge of the entire VMware product line • Conduct pre-packaged VMware consulting solutions in a timely and effective manner • Assist in the development of standard reusable VMware “productized” consulting service offerings, including definition of tasks, deliverables and standard estimates • Help to document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions, and feed them into our knowledge base for reuse by customers and partners Requirements • Relevant years of IT experience which at least part of that should be working with server virtualization technologies • Strong Microsoft Server Operating System design and or administration experience required • Proven experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services consultant • Substantial experience in infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems environments, including failover techniques, recovery/rollback. • Experience with desktop virtualization (View, Citrix desktop) is advantageous but not required • Unix or Linux systems administration skills desirable • Experience of working with Internet (ISP/ASP) hosting providers is advantageous • Sound understanding of network and storage management principals required • Familiarity with systems management concepts and processes such as capacity/performance management and tuning; • Understanding of modern IT production datacenter • Scripting experience in PowerCli/Powershell desirable • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills • Ability to travel between 50-60 percent of the time, including international • VCP4 or VCP5 strongly preferred
