Business Development Manager

Scope:

To identify and develop new business and to maintain existing customer relations with all the firm’s customers with regards to all inspection, verification, testing, calibration and certification work in the Western Cape region.

Summary of Major responsibilities:

It is the incumbent’s responsibility to adhere to the QHSE policies and procedures as defined in the documented Management System, and according to relevant legislation.

The incumbent has the authority to halt operations when encountering a breach of the SHE or Quality protocols, where he/she feels there is a hazard to their own personal safety or the safety of other workers involved. This authority is dependant on the breach being immediately reported to the relevant responsible party.

To create a marketing strategy together with the firm's Management Team and to effectively implement this strategy for your region.

To lipase with other the firm’s SA divisions to gain maximum benefit in the market place, by marketing each others services or offering joint services

To market and drive the concept of long term contracts instead of adhoc work

To liase with customers and provide feedback to operations and laboratory teams on existing quality of service.

To work with operations and laboratory teams to find solutions to customer problems and to provide feedback to the customer on these solutions.

To identify opportunities in the market place for new business and to react timeously to take advantage of these opportunities

To liase and develop sustainable relationships with existing customers.

To grow the firm’s market share

To grow the firm’s revenue

To creatively market the firm’s business to the OGC industry

To set up and manage all the firm’s stands at exhibitions and conferences

To develop and regularly update the firm’s brochures and other marketing tools.

To manage projects through its life cycle before handling of to operations or laboratory teams

REPORTING STRUCTURE



Qualifications:
Tertiary Qualification – Degree/Diploma
Marketing and sales qualification - preferable

Experience:
Service industry experience (minimum 3 years)
Knowledge or experience in Inspection services (minimum 3 years)
Oil, Gas and chemical industry experience (minimum 5 years)
Marketing experience (minimum 3 years)
Some project management experience
Excellent communication skills
Good negotiator
Good interpersonal skills to handle client relations
Experience on Surveying, Sampling and Inspection work would be advantageous.
