Geoscientific Data Technologist – South Africa We are seeking a recent Information Technology or Geosciences graduate to join our growing Implementation and Support team based in Johannesburg, South Africa as a Geoscientific Data Technologist (GDT). Reporting to the Regional Manager Implementation and Deployment, (Australia, Africa, Europe) you will be responsible for providing ongoing technical support to the Geoscientific Data Analysts in object construction, process documentation, training and customer support as they implement the acQuire Technology in a range of mining and exploration situations. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for you to gain international experience, accredited training and mentorship whilst working with a supportive and forward thinking team. You will have: •Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or Geoscience •A minimum of 2 years working experience in an Information Technology or Geosciences role, preferably with exposure to mining services •A sound understanding of database management systems preferably with SQL scripting and SQL Server RDBMS configuration experience •Proven problem solving skills and ability to exercise judgment while working independently •Capacity to learn rapidly in a very dynamic environment •High energy and motivation •Well developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff. •Working knowledge of the acQuire software or other geological databases and resource modelling software will be favourably regarded.
