Operations Controller A position has become available for an Operations Controller to join our client that specialises in the distribution of books, multimedia and electronic equipment. Our client has one of the biggest and most advanced distribution centre infrastructures in the country and the successful candidate will join their Johannesburg operations. "The main purpose of this position will be to manage all logistical arrangements regarding the bonded warehouse and assist with all clearing and forwarding requirements." Only those candidates who meet with all the below minimum requirements will be considered for a pre-interview. Minimum Requirements: Must have matric or equivalent qualification with a relevant tertiary clearing & forwarding, bonded warehouse & tariff clarification qualification Must have at least 2 years experience working within a similar position with strong operational experience in the management of a Bonded Warehouse Must have strong knowledge of imports & exports legislation and 2 years experience in Air, Road and Sea Imports & Exports Previous experience and working knowledge of Corefreight Must be fully computer literate (MS Office, Excel, Outlook) Must have exceptional communication skills and be fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans) and a third language (French/Portuguese) would be advantageous Must have the ability to plan, coordinate, prioritise and manage time effectively within this deadline driven environment Must be able to and work within a team environment, but also take full responsibility and accountability for own duties The ability to identify and solve problems is essential Must be committed in providing high quality service to clients/customers Must be able to remain calm and focussed at all times Must be flexible, adaptable, goal orientated and self-motivated Must be well presented and professional in overall manner Must be willing to work after hours when required Must have own reliable transport and valid driver's licence Key Performance Areas: Liaise with all service providers, airlines and clients and ensure that expected SLA's are met Ensure all documentation for inbound/outbound shipments are accounted for, updated and filed accordingly Follow up on arrivals/deliveries within prescribed deadlines and arrange transport for cargo Manage transhipment cargo and coordinate with hauliers for the release of cargo delivery Manage and oversee all aspects of bonded warehouse facility Compile relevant weekly/monthly reports for presentation to management Actively participate and support Company World Class Culture In Return our Client Offers: Monthly TCTC Salary of R12000 - R13500 per month Permanent employment opportunity Dynamic and Secure working environment Ongoing training and skills development
