PhP Developer Php Developer Purpose The developer will report to the Engineering Manager on the development of applications and systems according to agreed timelines. Measuring of activities will be done by the Engineering Manager against the project plans, standards and methodologies. Key Responsibility Areas: Reporting to the Engineering Manager. Building of PHP based applications. Maintenance of core PHP-based applications on our commercial platforms. Development work aligned to the THe companies coding methodology. Support of applications and environment. Core Competencies: Strong communication skills. Have significant experience developing client / server, n-Tier and web applications. Able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of Object Oriented development methodologies and UML. Have excellent communication and technical documentation skills. XML and SOAP an advantage. Proficiency with Linux (e.g. RedHat); Understanding of SQL databases such as MySQL, secure web servers such as Apache with mod_ssl. General Competencies: A very good understanding of databases is required. Enthusiastic & communicative team member with a positive attitude. Dedication and willingness to work individually or in a team, as well as unsupervised and alone. Experience and Education: PHP Development with 5+ years experience. MySQL, Java and Oracle experience will be to your advantage. Diploma in Information Technology, BTech (IT) or Computer Science Degree a significant advantage.
