Cobol Developer Software development & maintenance based on specification that includes: - Complex program development and maintenance with Micro Focus Cobol - Script creation with UNIX AIX - Reporting and data extracts with CQCS - System analysis and investigations - Data consolidation, integrity, integration & controls - Documentation as per development standards - Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 (T-SQL and SSRS Reporting models) - Standby duties Personal skills and profile: A definite self-starter that can work with a minimum amount of supervision and that can perform under pressure. A hands-on personality that flourish by being involved and taking ownership in understanding the business environment. A team player that realize that the focus is on team achievement instead of individual performance. Passionate about Information Technology and a hunger to constantly learn and explore. Absolutely honest and ethical. Excellent analytical, documentation and communication skills. Technical skills: - COBOL (ANS85) - UNIX AIX scripting - CQCS Reporting toolset - SQL Server 2005/2008 SSRS/SSIS/SSAS (will be an advantage) Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of COBOL development exposure. Knowledge of UNIX operational commands and AIX scripting required. A strong background in Cobol with excelent analytical skills critical. T-SQL experience will be an advantage. Education: Grade 12 with a tertiary qualification – preferably a national diploma in Information Technology or a B Degree. Alternatively a proven track record
