Human Resources Practitioner Requirement Overview At Paarl Media, printing is not just about putting ink on paper. Paarl Media now stands at the threshold of its next major phase of an ongoing evolution which commenced at its formation in 2000. We are establishing a new web offset, magazine and commercial printing operation in KwaZulu-Natal which will become operational towards July 2010 at our new premises in Mahogany Ridge, Pinetown. Key Duties & Responsibilities The position reports to the General Manager and to the Executive Director Human Resources of the Paarl Media Group with regards to the implementation of the Paarl Media Group’s HR strategy. The successful candidate will be required to assist with the various tasks in the Human Resources function, including but not limited to effective liaison and negotiation with unions, liaison with the Seta regarding the compilation and submission of workplace skills plans, the implementation of various training and development interventions, i.e. learnerships and apprenticeships, ABET and life skills training, the development of critical scares skills, as well as the implementation of the company’s employment equity program. A sound working knowledge of payroll administration is essential. The regulatory nature of legislation also requires a sound knowledge of relevant legislation. Skills, Experience & Education We require the services of a relevant qualified personnel practitioner with a degree in Industrial Psychology / Personnel Management and who has at least two years practical experience in a HR function in a manufacturing environment. The practitioner must have exceptional interpersonal skills and experience in the various related duties, i.e. recruitment and selection, industrial relations, training and development, remuneration and performance management, employment equity and BEE. Effective personnel administration and capturing of information on to the HR MIS also forms part of the responsibilities. The successful candidate must be registered with the South African Board of Personnel Practitioners as a General Practitioner, and be able to present a portfolio of evidence that supports the knowledge and skills gained as a generalist in the field.
