Closing date Friday 29 October 2010 Introduction An international company in the defence industry are looking to employ a Contracts Manager in their Finance and Information Technology Department. The primary purpose of the role is the formation, negotiation and finalization of contractual documents i.e Memorandum of Understanding, Cooperation Agreements, Non Disclosure Agreements and Sales Agreements. Requirements • BCOM or appropriate/relevant Commercial Qualification. • 10 years contractual/commercial experience. • Export/Import Control Requirements/Regulations & relevant Laws. • Knowledge of the Defense Industry in an electronics environment. • Technical Background and experience. • Computer Literacy. • Project/Programme Management exposure. • Strong Legal and commercial background and orientation. • Good understanding of the commercial/legal systems, agreements, contracting and effects on business. • Fluent in English. Personal Attributes • Organizing & negotiation skills. • Attention to detail & High level of accuracy. • Analytical Ability. • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Responsibilities • The Analyses of Terms & conditions received from customers of the company and negotiation of compliance or alternates to it. • Maintenance of General Terms & Conditions of the company for sales and for services and lease agreements of equipment in conjunction with the relevant division of the company. • Maintenance of the contractual data of the company, both in hard copy format (filing), and scanning/filing on data base on network. • Participation in the bid committees to ensure that terms for warranty, delivery, liability etc are addressed. • Overall company responsibility to ensure compliance to the RSA export/ import control regulations and laws. • Ensure company compliance to the export/import requirements of countries that they sell to/ buy from. • Assistance of export control administration staff in negotiations with regulatory bodies and in company users. • Offset negotiations with foreign suppliers and control of offset claims towards NGO’s. • Compliance Officer Role within the organisation. Offer Salaries will be calculated according to qualifications and applicable experience.
