HEAD OF CONTENT Job Overview You’ll be joining a leading South African, multinational IT company, located in Stellenbosch. In this dynamic middle management roll you will be reporting directly to the Head of Sales. This role would require you to formulate and generate an international content plan. You would also be required to manage a team 5-10 people on a day to day basis. Outputs Strategically, formulate and execute a global content plan for the company that is geared for revenue generation, sustainability and expansion of the content offering on multiple technology delivery platforms (mobile / PC) Incorporate the content strategy into the overall company strategy – ensuring alignment and contribution to achieving set objectives across all departments. On a high level manage the global content supplier network including technical, operational and administrative service levels that support the supplier relationship. Design a content road map for company. Ensure that content Managers (International & South Africa)execute on a delivery roadmap, ensuring content offering on MXit`s delivery channels is relevant, of high quality and contextual to each region where content is sold Ensure that content Managers execute on all the operational processes of managing content from contract negotiating, pricing formulation, content provisioning, content reporting and decommissioning functions Ensure content policies and procedures are put in place and kept up-to- date, streamlining business to business relationships between MXit and suppliers Ensure that Content provisioning needs are met by Product, Sales, Operation and Serivces. Drive IT developments for the improvement, growth, enhancement and development of the various platforms or channels that deliver content to company users Facilitate cross (up sell) or inter departmental usage of MXit content in various product and services (Sales, product, etc) – utilize content as a function to acquire users Ensure company complies to WASPA or regional polices, legal requirements / technical delivery requirements Analyze content performance in terms of reports, statistics, and uptake and downloads. Lead a team of content managers and content provisioning professionals. Keep abreast of new mobile and PC content trends, market movements, fads and technology changes that can impact the market, usage behaviour or B2B client interaction space Competencies Business analysis skills Strong leaderships skills Good written and verbal communication skills Facilitation skills Relationship skills Customer-centric Proven problem solving skills Time management skills Conflict management Conceptual thinking skills Ability to manage in a diverse environment Strong motivation and influencing skills Attention to detail Attributes Positive, enthusiastic attitude Teamwork Presentable, well spoken and professional Reliable Integrity Flexible - thrive in a dynamic environment Minimum Requirements Degree or Business qualification in Commerce, Marketing IT or Information Science Good experience product development, product management, content management or marketing At least 2-3 years experience in a similar management position, in dynamic fast moving industries Sound financial, product management and product improvement knowledge Knowledge of local and international mobile and content trends/markets Knowledge of cellular telecommunications best practices Mobile portal knowledge Business acumen Understanding the regulated environment GSM knowledge Ability to conduct relevant market research Knowledge of and experience in working in the mobile and/or telecommunication industry Technical system knowledge International exposure to mobile content and its advantages Nice to haves At least 3-4 years experience at middle management level, leading a team of no less than 5 people.
